MG MGA - Steering uni joint slope - thanks Barney

I have always had slope on the lower splines of the steering uni joint on my coupe no matter how hard I tightened the bolt.
Reading Barney's travelogue I saw his fix for this problem on Friday 8 May and his reference to the cms.. It was all there on the guru site only I hadn't looked.

Not sure where the "e" came from - should be "slop"!

I didn't realise the bolt was a 'special' one, will have to check mine.

This thread prompted me to investigate. I had abot 1/4" play at the wheel which I had attributed to slack in the rack. However, both sides of the U joint were not tight enough! Now it is free of all play.
Is it possible to jump splines if the bolts are not tight?
Art Pearse

I don't think it would jump the slines but what bugged me as you pulled on the steering wheel getting in it moved in and out a smidge.
