MG MGA - Tuning ..and David Vizard

I am about half way through Vizards "tuning the A-series ...' 3rd edition. Got it on Amazon US for US$39 (incl shipping down under) after a ref. to it on this site. It is the best book I have ever read on practical tuning for small engines. There is an excellent section on ram stacks and stub stacks and graphs of performance of various designs....recommended reading for those interested in inching out some extra performance or economy. It totally supports the design of the two Steves' stack design and the hp and overall performance gain...but there is much much more. I will use it for designing ,installing my Judson superchager filter carb. and air intake system. He loves SU carbs..thinks the sun shines of of their venturi passage!

Been tryin' to tell you that!
Mine is the 1st edition. It is well worth looking up as much Vizard as you can find - he has written a lot of articles that I stumble across on the internet - when the damned internet works - NOT today. He did a bunch of work on Chev V8 too, but his strong point is that he gives principles, so if you are smart enough to be fiddling with cars, you ought to be able to generalise. There's a whole book on tuning for economy with performance.

FRM..well the penny did drop eventually. ..thanks for mentioning it on previous post(s). I received the book yesterday and have been reading it like a novel....up to 3am this morning...the benefits of early retirement and time to pursue rabid interests.
