Actually, it is not suitable for the MGA. exhaust pipe is too small a diameter (40mm). Not sure about the MGB

It does exactly as described, provides a whistling sound (to me a somewhat irritating whistling sound). Since it is slightly restrictive to flow, it might also cause a slight drop of power output.
