MG MGA - Weight Distribution

I am presently investigating some modifications to my car but before I proceed I wonder whether anyone can answer these questions about weights.

I have searched through the archives and may have missed it, but I am interested in the weight distribution of a standard coupe (or roadster) front to rear. Has someone weighed their car or is the weight distibution published somewhere?

On the same lines the archives give the weight of the engine as around 400 lbs dressed (with starter, carbs etc.) and the workshop manual states it weighs 355 lbs with clutch. Has anyone actually weighed an engine fully dressed and also weighed a gearbox?

Thanks,

Rod

The 1500 weighs 1935lb dry, 1988lb ready to use. The 1600 1/11 weighs 1960lb dry, 2015lbs ready to use.

Weight distribution on all cars is 53% front, 47% rear.

I should have mentioned that the source of my information was MGA Coupes & Roadsters by P. Olyslager. Useful little book if you ever come across one at an autojumble. All sorts of data not ususlly found in the official documents. Even has all the original purchase prices.

Thanks for the information.
