MG MGA - wire harness
Almost there.... The harness that I have came with a seperate harness for the behind the dash conections (I gather sometimes they dont). I have one wire in that part of the loom unaccounted for...it goes in that harness and comes out somewhat close together...it is brown w/black and is somewhat heavy gauge. There is no mention of it in the A-Antics pages and I cant seem to track it down in the Diagram. I am guessing that this is to attach to a radio/stero (I dont have one)and the other end would go to the ignition post. Is that correct?? If Im not going to use it should I cut it out or leave it there?? (if it is for a radio) ALSO...I found the many 'small bulb sockets' to be of very poor quality/design. It was hard to screw the bulbs in and make them stay. I spliced in some of the old bulb holders from the old loom. The worked much bettr. Have people found that to be the case?? Thank you. Hoping to be on the road soon. WTM |

Bill, as I sit at myt computer I seem to remember brown/black heavier wires might go to the horn button. John |

I do have the horn the horn wire hooked up. That too is a heavier gauge wire but it is brown w/ green. Unless told otherwise I am going w/ the theory that the brown w/ bkack wire is for an option. I have left it in and taped it off. I do have one green wire with a bullet end that is unaccounted for. I have gone through the diagram (it does not have the blower in it) and A-Antics very closely. All wires are accounted for and in place. All is done but the headlights...front flashers waiting for parts)...and horns. Ant thoughts on this one gren wire??? It comes out of the 'behind the dash Harness' on the right side facing the Map Light. |

Just found the green on the tech pages of MGA/Guru!! It goes to the Blower Switch (when I put it in...heater and controls to it are all out of thr car) The amount of info on that site is amazing. Almost done. Thank you for the help. WTM |

Brown with green (38) is horn to A2 fuse terminal. Brown with black (40) is horn to horn push switch. |
