MG MGB GT V8 Factory Originals Technical - V8 Clutch

What clutch are people using with the 215 and MGB overdrive gearbox. The reason for my inquiry is that I have replaced one disc two months ago because the clutch would chatter when I depressed the pedal. On removing it the supports for the friction material were broken. The replacement clutch now has the same problem. It is a 9 1/2' clutch that fits Triumph TR8 as well as Jaguar XJ6 2.9 manual which was never imported to the USA. What could be causing this? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for your suggestions, advice, etc.

David,
My first conversion used the MG transmission to Rover engine. The clutch was the MG V8 disc which is identical to the TR8 and SD1 disc. I had no problems at all.
The problem sounds more like the pressure plate has a broken spring or finger applying uneven pressure. The other possability could be the flywheel. It may not be modified properly (centered) for the larger plate or the center of the B flywheel not dished to clear the clutch disc springs.

Keith,
Thanks for your response. The pressure plate is fine, and the clutch has been centered correctly, and flywheel modified according to the specifications provided by Dave Vale of the V8 Conversion company, from whom I bought the kit. Could excessive vibration cause this?

If you were a teenager, I'd say you are revving the engine up and dumping the clutch (but I'm sure that isn't the case).

David,
A bad vibration may cause this and so will oil or grease on the flywheel, clutch disc or press. plate. Is the pilot bushing in good condition? Other causes could be a universal, mtr and / or trans. mount loose.
Other than that it will be a warped disc, off center or press. plate off center or broken spring.
