I have a 1965 MGB. I have noticed that when I wash the car water gets into the air intake on the top of the car near the windscreen. The water gets trapped in this area. I notice it drips in to the drivers side od the car near the bottom of the steering wheel. Can anyone help me with the solution to stop the water getting in. Most of your problem is probably from a blocked drain tube which fits underneath the well of the fresh air intake and because it is blocked the water has to go somewhere! Try cutting the last 15mm (5/8") off the bottom of the rubber tube (its like a teat) and then push a small diameter rod (gently)down through the now shortened tube to clear the detrius that usually collects in there. you will be surprised at the rubbish that comes out. It's a design fault and hopefully that is yor only problem. The alternative is expensive sheet metal repair work.

Tom,

The air vent in the scuttle should have a drain hole at the bottom. If it is like mine the rubber restricter at the bottom of the drain has probably gone hard and is full of "stuff". Mine had a collection of stones, leaves and dirt. If you can, empty the bowl (ball shaped) section on the drivers side just above the gearbox and slightly behind the heater on the underside of the tranny tunnel. That should solve your problem.

If you look in the manual of on the moss catalog you should get an idea of what I'm talking about.
