MG MGB Technical - Car storage

Hi all,

I'm laying up my MGB for 12-18 months while saving for a rebuild. The engine is out of the car, the gearbox overdrive unit is still in the car. Is it okay to leave the drive train like this, or does it need some form of support? The engine is sitting mournfully on its sump on the garage floor. Is this okay?

Kind regards and all the best for the festive season.

What's holding the front of the gearbox up? If that is resting on the floor as well it will be twisting the rubber mounts, not a good idea. At the very least it should be on a jack, blocks etc. so it is fairly high in the tunnel. If you can find a way of supporting it from the car structure somehow, *other* than by the first motion shaft, that will allow you to roll the car about which having the gearbox resting on a jack or blocks won't.
