MG MGB Technical - Crane Allison missing shutter

I got the C/A elec. ignition years ago, never installed. Trying now, I find none of the shutters I have
fit my distributor shaft. Dist. is a Lucas 41491. mgb roadster 1973. Comes with 7 or 8 shutters,
none any good. One left out? Kit is #700, got through the mail. The C/A web site no help. Local
dealers who carry C/A products, no help. Anyone got that shutter or at least know what (if any)
number it is? Thanks,

Joe

Joe, The correct shutter number is 219. They come with 2 different 4 cylinder shutters. Since the XR 700 fits several applications it's probably best to check with someone other than MG owners as their correct shutter is in the car, unless you can find someone with a bad box and they have saved the shutter. I think a call to the C/A tech line may help, 904-258-6174. I don't have a toll free number. Next I would try Triumph, Austin-Healy or Jaguar lists. The shutters may also be packed in GM or Ford C/A units. Hope this helps a little. Good luck, Clifton

Joe,
email me at bobmunch64@yahoo.com. I will need a street address, I can send you a regular C/A 4 bladed shutter for your application at no charge. It is used, but it works just fine.

BTW, some one else on this BBS sent me an email about trying to find someone here in IDAHO, Please send your query again and it has gotten lost in that confusion known as too many PC's and too many other things going on. I would like to help you, but I need your email addy again. Thanks!!!!

Joe;
Bob M. has kindly resolved your problem however fyi I called Crane earlier this year for same reason, and they sent me a complete pack of shutters at n/c. It took some time to get thru to them as the lines were busy, but well worth it. They were very resopnsive imho.
