Scot, You may try the J.C. Whitney catalog, although I myself have never purchased anything from them. $400.00 for a decent top is about the right price though. Have you also tried Moss Motors? They are a good source, and may have different grades to choose from. Good luck. David

Scott, Ten years ago I put a Robbins top on my 80B. It still looks great and functions properly. Moss sells them for about $280.00. Also, I see new tops on eBay in the $150 to $200 range, but do not know anything about the quality. In addition, take a look in Hemmings. I see Carabou (sp) and Sidney tops advertised there for a lot less than $400.00. If I lived in CA I would not worry too much about a top. In fact, I did not put my top up until mid December and I live in NE OHIO. Dave

Victoria British has them for 279 dollars

Scot- No need to go broke on this one. $280 for an ordinary vinyl top is a flat-out rip-off. Try contacting Prestige Auto Trim at http:www.prestigeautotrim.com/ The SV vinyl top costs $165 and lasts about five years. HD vinyl costs $204 and lasts about ten years. Add another $15 and you can have a zip-out rear window. Prestige makes their own tops in the UK and I've never heard a complaint about the quaility of their tops. I use their Mohair top and the workmanship is excellent, almost as good as something that's made as a one-off by a custom upholsterer. Don't think so? Check the Archives of this BBS: Lots of good reviews!

Whoops! Let's try that again. http://www.prestigeautotrim.com/

Don't mess about - go straight to the MG Owners Club in the UK and buy one of their hoods (tops) - about $180 and they really do fit properly - no hassle.

I got my interior kit from Prestige and I can tell you it is top notch. Another member of my local club got his top from them and he recommends them as well. bob g

Email me and I will see if I can find one for you later. After I get my fuel pump back from David. Just keep reminding me... probably late next week OK? Happy New Year!
