MG MGB Technical - Fuel Pump Points Adjustment

I've replaced the points in my SU pump, and need to adjust them a bit. How is this done? The car is a 77B.

The correct way to adjust these is, by rotating the diaphragm and shaft (obviously with the pump split) I have heard that gentle bending of the blade will do it, but I would not recommend this approach

After tightening things up a bit, I've taken the car for a drive, and it's working. However, while watching the points (cover off), they occasionally stop, as if stuck in the closed position. Though I can't tell for sure, I'm thinking the points must not be touching when this happens. I intend to investigate further, but when adjusting with power off, what visual cues am I looking for?

If this weren't intermittent, I think I could take care of it in short order, but I want to make sure of things before I let the wife take the car out.

Fred - e-mail me and I'll send you an instruction sheet n assembly and adjustment of the points style fuel pump. It sounds easy in the shop manual, but can be a bit tricky to get it right so thy will run trouble free.
