MG MGB Technical - Hard top fasteners

I've recently purchased what looks like a J&S hardtop on Ebay.Unfortunately, the rear fixing attachments are missing.I have a rough idea of what they may be like, some sort of a cranked rod with a wing nut.If someone can advise me as to the dimensions, shape, material, etc.I will be very grateful.Rgds,Barrie E

Thank you Bernie, unfortunately those side & rear fittings are alien to the hardtop I have. Mine has brackets mounted just below the rear of the side windows. These brackets have a vertical hole in the centre which I assume a 1/4"or 5/16" threaded rod in the shape of a "J' passes through & hooks under the waist band with a nut at the top to lock it all together. Just obtain a couple of 5/16 bolts, and modify them. It's the same fitting on an mga top too.

The J fits under the pivot for the soft top, so the hardtop can be fitted without removing the soft top frame. the threaded section then passes through the L bracket on your hardtop and a knurled nut is used to tighten it up. An acorn nut is used on top to finish off nice and neatly.

Thank you Dominic. I've got a spare couple of rods that hold the battery in place,I should be able to make something out of them.Barrie E
