MG MGB Technical - mgb exhausts

i have to change my exhaust. does anyone know if any of the main supply and fit companies still stock them?
my local kwik fit hadn't even heard of an MBG - let alone stocking the exhaust!

Try telling them it's an MGB.... ;-)

If that doesn't work, try an independent. The bigger places struggle to find the right exhaust for a Mondeo, let alone something a bit different from the norm. Otherwise, an mg specialist will surely do it, but I'm guessing that you'll pay through the nose.

Simon, Neil is right - try one of the independents. We've got the same deal here: The guys at the chain shops aren't always paid to think outside the box, as it were.

FWIW, I got my exhaust from one of our Moss U.S. suppliers. I got a decent price on a S/S exhaust that fit like a glove. Plus, it came without the center resonator, aka speed-bump-dragger, giving the car a very nice rumble. A bit loud, mind you, but nice.

some of the major brand names that make MGB exhausts are Peco, Bell, or Falcon so you could do a google search for a supplier for example 'bell exhaust MGB' and take it to the shop to have it fitted or fit it yourself.

Hi ,
It's rather funny to read that. Even in France the main car dealers are able to supply one! Maybe have an attempt by MGOC or MOSS, it should work properly.

Do the exhaust shops over in GB NOT have the tube benders they all have here in the colonies??? Just about any shop can make you a new pipe and muffler system here if you have the old system to use as a pattern or if you'll leave them the car so they can bend some up to fit. I had some lovely new pipes and mufflers put on my wife's XJ-6 Jag this summer at a local shop, all custom bent and fitted, with some nice new mufflers that actually seem to be a bit more free flowing and make a nice purrr at the tailpipe.
All this from the cats back for just over $200 installed.
An MGB should be a breeze compared to the Jag's tight quarters.

Good-heavens no. They would have to employ engineeers then, instead of dumb fitters. There are specialists that manufacture to order, but they are very few and far between compared to 'exhaust replacement' places.
