MG MGB Technical - overdrive refitment issues
Hello, I removed my overdrive unit and had it tested by a professional. However I am struggling to refit it. I have followed their instruction, ensuring the splines are aligned and then turning the output shaft clockwise till it slides fully home. Unfortunately this worked ok until I remembered i hadn't fitted the the pump cam and ball bearing. After i fitted these for some reason the overdrive is being fouled by something (this may just be coincidence), I have checked the cam and this is still in clearance, hencce I am a little confused. Can anyone shed any light on this? |

It sounds like you are hitting the pump's roller. It should be retracted to allow the od unit to slide home. RAY |

Put a piece of twine over the pump shaft and under the roller fit the overdrive and pull both ends of the twine back then slip the overdrive fully home and slide out the twine. |
