MG MGB Technical - Parking & Brake Light Problem

O.k. here goes...Own a '68 mgb roadster (#150101).
Q.1= Is it possible that this model has the brake lighting wired thru ignition 'ON' circuit only? Unless I'm losing my mind, I could have sworn that the brake lights worked before W/O the key on! Which leads to; Q.2= Prior to re-installing the brake light switch,(had to replace pedal bushings) all exterior lights were functional...after installing, NO parking lights front OR rear but hazards, turn, brake and headlights work! What in the good Lord's name is going on? I haven't touched any other wiring except for checking voltage readings at harness and fuse box. Which leads to;Q.3= Am I correct in assuming that this year MGB has a 2-Fuse Box only and was never made with the 4-Fuse Box?

1. nope, the brake lights are ignition-hot -- need the key in and turned to position II

All 68 B's were fitted with a 2 fuse box.

Thank you Harry & Clifton; You've both confirmed my assumptions. This 'B' has been a long-term project so my level of time spent has been minimal. It appears then, that someone before me has replaced the fuse box with a four-fuse unit. Makes one wonder how much worse the wiring problems can get?! Now I just need to find the source of my running light problem and I just MAY get to drive this car before it snows! Thanks guys.

If the '68 brake light screws into the back of the pedal box, check the barrel connecters here.

If the PO has wired the 4-way fuse-box as per the later models the top two fuses will supply all exterior running lights except headlights, one fuse per side.
