MG MGB Technical - Pierce Intake/With DGV

Have a Pierce intake with a DGV.On the bottom of the
manifold there is a vacuum nipple under the carburater.

Can anyone tell me what goes to this. When I close this off when running the engine stops.Have a K&N filter
there is not a place for PVC on the filter housing.

It sounds like your manifold is modified from stock. I thought they normally cam with a water choke option under the carb, held on by a coarse threaded 1/4" bolt in the center. Try plugging the hole and raising your idle speed.

Jeff,
It doesnot appear to be modified. It has a factory
look valve that is vaccum operated. If I close this off
the engine quits even at full throttle. It takes all
vaccum off of the intake.Mabye someone has seen this before.Appreciate your help.

Thanks,
AJ

Alfred-
Why not get the information straight from the manufacturer? Pierce Manifolds has a website at http://www.piercemanifolds.com/
Steve S.

Maybe someone altered the manifold to work with a factory pcv valve...

Sounds like a very effective anti run-on valve? I am half joking, but could this be what it is? Is it, could it be hooked up to the ignition in any way?
Cliff Maddox

Cliff, I believe you hit the nail on the head. I've never had one on my car, so I hadn't thought of it, but yes. Alfred car must have had a run-on problem, so it was added (or transfered) to eliminate run-on.
