MG MGB Technical - Removing gearbox adapter block
| Hello, Can someone explain how I remove the adapter block from the gearbox, I took the overdrive unit off to have it tested and following through the haynes manual, it said to remove the adapter which (which wasn't necessary in the end). Unfortunately I started the removal process and now feel I need to get it off to replace the gasket (which is damaged). I have shown photos but just can't seem to separate the selector arm to release this block. Please can you advise Many thanks

| Push the selector forward until all the rod ends are in line - then swing the arm downwards out of the rod ends and pull the adapter off. |

| Thanks for your response, just to clarify, what are you saying should be in line? By pushing the selector forward is that towards or away from the spring? Many thanks, |

| Push selector down - black arrow - so that white line & black line are level - then swing selector round - white arrow. If the back shaft is down in the way, lift it up - can't see clearly in your pic.
