MG MGB Technical - Steering wheel spline cross reference list?
I am looking for a used steering wheel for my 1967 MGB but am finding that most hubs I've found are for 1968 and later B's. Looking at the various steering wheel manufacturer's sites I've found that the 1967 MGB has a B-25 hub spline. Does anyone know if any other car has this same spline'd hub? I have yet to find one so that I could expand my search. My car came without the hub or wheel so I have nothing to go by. Thanks. -Rod

I did a search on eBay for MGB steering wheel and found an item with this description : "This is a NEW Steering Wheel hub adaptor for Formuling France Steering Wheels (Should also work on motolita Steering Wheels). It fits Austin Healey Sprite Mk I thru III, MG 1100 & 1300, MGA and MGC up to 1971,MG midget MkII & MkIII(1967,1968,1969),MGB and MGB GT up to 1969. Mini (Special?) and Riley Kestrel 1000 & 1300." Gives you a few names anyway. There was at least 1 wheel for sale that came up in the search that would probably fit a 67.

Well, that eBay listing can't be completely correct; because the splines on a 67 MGB and a 68 MGB are different.

Rod. Your best bet is to purchase a hub or "boss" from Moss along with a steering wheel to fit. If you are looking for an original steering wheel, you might shoot a message off to Bob Schaulin at gmbm@aol.com to see if he can supply one. Feel free to use my name in the message. He is exceptionally knowledgeable about such things and has provided me with many quality parts in the past. Les

eBay Item # 1808497481 "This is a steering wheel that came off of a 1967 MGB,although it is not original. The mounting BOSS is included. As you can see in the pictures, the wheel(which is 13")fits onit too.An original HORN PUSH (with the motif missing)goes with.THE WHEEL HAS A CRACK AT ONE OF THE MOUNTING SCREW HOLES!!could easily be welded. This is still a good deal for a sharp wheel with NO TEARS in the leather...Needs some TLC...good luck " Started Feb-25-02 20:44:00 PST , Ends Mar-04-02 20:44:00 PST $33.33
