Vicky Brit (1.800.255.0088) has a set of Monroe Shock coversion kits #5-6020 for CB and #5-6021 for RB. $99.95. They also have the SPAX kits which are more common repacements, tho quite expensive. I have these installed on my CB. A little rough on the potholes though. Not as soft as the levers. MOSS also sells a similar set for front or rear as well as the SPAX kits. Good Luck |

I understand that the rear tube shocks for a Colt Vista (sorry, don't know the year) are a better match for the back of an MGB (or MGA I suppose). People say that the Monroe's that Moss sells are originally designed for a much heavier car, and give a pretty stiff ride. If you search the archives for "Colt" you could probably come up with the rest of the information. |

I replaced the way too stiff Moss supplied rear shocks because they were specified for Chevvy vans. Early VW Beetle shocks were fine. I left the stiff ones on the front Pete |

I have the Moss conversation installed in my 73B for the last few years and if anything I would like a stiffer rear end. Later this year i am going to install a rear stabilizer bar and a better one up front to stiffen the car up around the corners. |

I don't have the part number handy, but if you were to look back through the archives here about 2-3 yrs ago, there was a good discussion on likely candidates from among the available kits, and separate tube shocks. FWIW. |

FYI - Monroe Shocks used for front and rear Moss kits as of a few years ago: Monroe-Matic Plus #33076 Monroe Shocks I use at the rear only on my GT: Monroe SensaTrac #5893 ST Also FYI: travel from full extension to full compression is approx. 5" according to my notes made some years ago. If anyone has better info, please present it. Thanks! :-) |
