MG MGB Technical - Weber DGV stalls

I have a Weber DGV with electric choke. It starts fine but as soon as I drive it to the end of the street and stop the rpms drop off and it stalls. As soon as I restart it the car runs fine. Why is it stalling?

It sounds like the electric choke needs to be adjusted so that it remains in the on position a bit longer. The choke is opening too quickly and the resulting lean mixture is causing your cold engine to stall. RAY

Look at fast idle screw setting under the choke. Should be set at 1300 rpm. Or it could be an idle issue - perhaps too low?. There is also a very very small screw under the carb body which adjusts the closure/opening of the throttle butterflies (ie not the choke butterflies). It is a b##### to get at. In other words start with the basics! If the fuel pump is working and the fuel filter is not restricted in any way. I spent along time trying to work out a similar problem and I found out that I had forgotten to put back in the fast idle screw after giving the carb a service and clean!

Hope it helps.
