MG MGF Technical - Elastic Hood Straps
| Hi I noticed that someone was selling some elastic straps on e-bay for £9.99 to help with the roof being retracted, as mine has started to stop half way and i have to pull it forward again for it to go all the way back. (and yes before anyone mentions the rear window is unzipped and laid flat first)So many don't i believe. Apparently the ones fitted loose there elasticity after a while and this is what aids to having holes in your roof. I was just wondering if anyone had used these straps before and what they thought? As this seems a very easy & cheap solution to an annoying problem. Regards |

| If you search the archive you'll find plenty of threads about this. Yes, they work perfectly - they were originally designed to push the folds of fabric away from the frame to prevent them being caught (the so-called "scissor action") but they also have the effect of completely solving the hood lock up problem. Cheers, Tim |
