MG MGF Technical - HT leads-How should they fit

I noticed my HT leads are quite loose in the holes where the spark plugs are. No matter how hard I push them I cant get the top rubber piece to sit over the hole. They are always sticking up, leaving gaps.

Is this normal, or could it in some way explain my inconsistent performance?

I Brown

give them a slight pull, if they are lose they will come right out, if not then they'll be obviously hooked.

I think they are hooked on corectly, just a large space around the rubber which was worrying me.

Mine are the same with magnecor 8.5mm jobs. No probs for thosands of miles now!
Chris Glen

I think they all do that. I wouldn't worry too much, there is a seal at the bottom against the plug, and a plastic cover over the top. the big head is to help you grip them to pull them out and to stop you dropping crap in there (like washers and bolts)
