MG MGF Technical - New rear glass hood

Anywone knows if the new hood fits over the standar frame?

Is the same item sold by X-power (the BAS one?), or is a new brand design with other frame?

Tx

All hoods with the glass rear screen are apparently manufactured by BAS. I gather that the hood material is typically applied over a Mk1 hood frame, or a Mk2 that has been suitably modified.

Not sure about the details of the new 2005MY TF hood though?
Rob Bell

Just that new 2005 MY mgtf hood. I was wondering if the hood frame is the same used in the latest models (MGF MKII, and MGTF till 2004) It doesn't sound very sensible to use the frame of a model that is not currently under production.

And no, useless to ask my local MGR dealer. Two weeks after give them the part number of the Xpower springs and induction kit (first they said they weren't original MGR parts...), they're still unable to give me the price of the parts and the labour costs...

Feeling depressed!!!

What are the options for a new hood with glass screen? There's Mike Saturs supplied one, MG Rover, Xpower - is that three different hoods? What are the differences?
Any Hood experts out there?
Russell Parslow

Yes, three different hoods. The 2005 TF hood is not the same as the one MG S&R supplies under the "Sportster" brand (although I believe they are made by the same Welsh manufacturer). Don't know much about Satur's except that it is different again.
