MG MGF Technical - Radio cassette connections

I want to retro fit a 741 original MG radio cassette unit in my 96 F but in replacing the original some barbarian chopped off all the connector blocks from the loom.
Can anyone tell me the layout of the connections on the back of the unit - two 8 way horizontal sockets and a vertical 7 way socket. Well alright technically they are plugs but you know what I mean! I have identified all the relevant wires and suspect the 7 way is all that I will need. Thanks

Erm..... I have eventually answered my own question but if anybody else is interested for the archives:
If you wanted to find the connections to a Phillips 741 radio cassette as fitted to MGF there are up to 4 connector blocks . Looking at the unit from the back on the RHS there are three bump polarised horizontal and one vertical plug to fit flying sockets. The top ten way horizontal plug is for the remote CD changer input and the vertical seven way connector is for steering wheel mounted controls. I am not concerned with these as they are not relevant to my(any?) F.
Looking from the back of the unit the middle eight way horizontal connector has speaker positives on top 4 pins, negatives on bottom 4 pins; from left to right these are: rear right, front right, front left, rear left. The modern standard colours for these speakers are respectively (L to R) purple, grey, white, and green, negatives have a black stripe. These are NOT the MGF wiring loom colours which are orange for the RHS and yellow for the LHS.
The bottom connector has only 5 wires and possibly fewer depending on your car and maybe taste. Looking from the back of the unit the top row from the left has two pins not connected. The 3rd top pin from the left is 12v for a motorised aerial which is not a standard F thing(tricky space wise), the 4th top is the main switched 12v supply for the unit and is coloured yellow on the loom. The bottom row from the left is 1st not connected, 2nd permanent 12v for security code maintenance(red on the loom), 3rd is illumination (use loom yellow switched 12v for simplicity), and 4th is the permanent 0v or ground.
If you encounter the same problem as I have with the connectors chopped off and wish to reinstate them, a universal ISO standard kit may still be available from real car audio shops CT21UV01 otherwise small spade connectors will do with a good crimp tool. Maybe the original post should have been 'general' but I hope it helps somebody sometime!

Kits are are available from Halfords for various combinations, including ISO to bare wires, so all you need are bullet connectors or a chocolate block.

As Sam says, I used one of these Halfords connectors (actually, male to female) to enable me to connect up four speakers in my F...

Hmm - I hadn't realised that the standard MG radio had control inputs for a steering wheel control?

No MGF ever used these, but you could employ a controller from a 'bubble' Rover 200, as the steering wheel has a very similar profile to that used by our MGs :o)

Thanks Sam - that was my first line of enquiry but I was assured by the yoof that they do not. You are very probably right! Where were you on the 15th April! ;-}
