MG MGF Technical - Tracking

HI,
I have an 99 MGF 1.8i and I've noticed that when driving forward the steering wheel is lined up straight and that the front tyres have uneven wear (there is a worn strip on the inside edge of the right hand tyre). My guess is that the tracking is out - any recommendations on if it is better to have the tracking done by a main dealer as opposed to a general tyre fitting firm ? I understand that on the MGF's the tracking is done on all four wheels - is this right?

Thanks for any help,
Woody

Yes, tracking is probably the culprit - and you do need a 4-wheel tracking shop.
You need to make sure the ride height is set correctly.
From memory, this is around 368mm from the centre of the front wheel to the wheelarch.
If you're in Southern England, pop into Micheldever tyres just south of Basingstoke, else reply with your location and someone may recommend a tracking centre.
Don't go to the likes of KwikFit.
