MG MGF Technical - Trophy Front Spoiler

Has anyone fitted a Trophy Spoiler to their car, what fixings did you use and did you notice any improvement?
Mat

The Splitter has 6 lower, end fixings and a run of double sided tape that secures the top edge to the existing front moulding. The shape of the moulding is done to ensure that there is a very tight plastic to plastic contact where the two meet, which of course is in full eye line.

The material is very flexible and far more so than any fibreglass item. I will advise on the fitting once I have done it.

I have one - can't advise on fitting as the boys at Techspeed did mine.

I have had a KH splitter on the car in the past so can make a comparison between the two.

If there is any difference over standard (ie no splitter), it is only marginal and it is certainly nowhere near as effective as the KH splitter.

Paul (Worcestershire) - Do you still have your old KH splitter? I'd make you a decent offer for it if you have!!
Paul

Sorry Paul, Blackburn,

I've had two KH splitters but I've managed to break them both. One of the consequences of running a very low car with Techspeed suspension.

Hopefully the Trophy splitter will fair better.

Fairly conclusive then!!!!

I have a Trophy front spoiler,,,, has to be replaced though, along with the bumper and headlights!! bumped in car yesterday, not my fault,, but nothing seemingly too damaged, however, goes in for repair monday,, all will be replaced!!!!! An old guy pulled out from a junction at a r/about, straight in front of me,, how could he not see me,,,, my car's bloody bright yellow!!!! lol

I have a splitter now ready for repaint before fitting. It is a genuine part, but SH, having been removed from a development car.

Offering it up to the front shows that the fit is very close and the double sided adhesive tape that holds the visible top edge should have an easy job creating a secure and asthetic line. It has a great deal of flexibility to conform to the front panels shape and makes for an interesting comparison to the problems of the first Smith and Deakin glass fibre alternatives. Was it Eric who had the problems?

I do think that there may be some conflict to fit this on cars fitted with front fog lamps. It will be damn close and I have a car to cross refernce this with hopefully tomorrow.
