MG MGF Technical - Upgrades on my MG TF

Hi there:

I've just finished stage one of my upgrading.

That includes a set of ultimax EBC rotors, yellowstuff pads and goodridge inox hoses, and an oil cooler.

First at all, i have to say that the rear discs suplied, wich refernce (USR 849) has been checked with EBC UK and Spain, DID NOT FIT the hub. They had to be reduced the inner shoulder by 0.6 mm (not sure if on diameter or on radius) to fit.

I've write EBC this morning, waiting for the answer now.

All the brake parts were bought on the ebay shop of JRT automotive, very good price (almost half as EBC Spain quoted me, even with shipping costs!!!), and very friendly and helpful people, have to say.

Even if the brakes are still bedding, I've found a big improvement on the feel, probably more on the hoses than on the pads, I'll post again when bedding time finishes and tell my opinions. Love his "hrummm" soft noise...

About the oil cooler, i've decided to go for the Mocal Laminova kit for lotus elise on www.elise-shop.com

Not cheap, but really good looking and powerful, summer in Spain is a nightmare for my little red devil, so I've decided to go for it.

All the parts received were very good looking and solid, but due to the different architectures among Elise and MGF/TF the silicone water pipes supplied did not fit. So we've decided to use the original water pipe, and taking the correct measures, cutting it to fit the cooler onto it.

Well done, the kit seems to work quite well, and even if we are having a cold winter, so no chances to heat very much the engine, I've noticed that the engine warms up much faster than before, so I'm sure when heat comes, my engine will be much colder.

Waiting now for stage 2, Toyo Proxes R1, as they have them both in original sizes, 185/55/15 and 205/50/15.

And looking for an air filter, doubting among the very expensive ITG Maxogen, or another less expensive solution, as the Pipercross Viper kit.

Any user has the pipercross viper???

Regards to everybody.
