MG MGF Technical - Wheel bearing gone ???

Hi all
How can you tell if a wheel bearing has gone?
I got this droning noise which i think is from the back end and comes in at around 30mph and only goes away when i take a left hand bend!
Its now getting quite unbearable with a little vibration on the foot pedals whilst driving.
Cheers

Sure sounds like it. If you take a constant radius right bend (roundabout) and steadily increase the speed and load on the bearings the drone should start and get worse. May need to repeat on a left bend but you need a quiete industrial estate with empty roundabouts for that.

If you really suspect the bearings then get them fixed early rather than late. Leave it too late and you wreck the bearing flange and have to change that as well - doubles the repair cost.

I reckon you've got a bearing failure from the description.

Thanks ROB / JOHN
So can i atempt the repair myself / whats the cost and the best place to buy new bearings?

Labour 1.5 Hours
Bearing 46.23 + vat
Drive Flange 54.96 + vat
