This thread got wacked as I don't see Bud's original post but congrats on the 90 years. Not sure if I can make that but it is my target. Anything after that is way beyond expectations. Oddly enoughly age related issues are not my current issue. Injury trying to act like a 20 year old with a 75 year old body is what caught me. |

Chris, take a look at Bud's post in "emergency fuel pump" below. Jud |

Many thanks, guys. I appreciate the friendships for a bunch of that 90's. It's been fun to show off the emergency fuel pump to folks. RE-hooking up the starter pull-cable was miserable. The inner cable is a material that will not accept solder. The hole that the inner cable goes through is only 3/32". The strands bind in the hole. I had to remove the bracket and enlarge the hole. That's where I learned that the outer cable is just barely smaller than the opening in the bracket (3/16"). That allowed me to pull the inner cable back far enough to get it through the opening enough to attach the coupling. Then I reinstalled the starter switch.
Can't justify some $70 for a new cable. Some of that 90 years is accredited to a Scottish grandfather named Campbell. I really like Len's '90 times around the sun' line. Bud |

You may have noticed the spelling of my name. A Cooper with a U rather than the traditional O. That is because it is Scottish. In fact our family constantly changed the spelling of their name for over a few hundred years to skip out on paying bills, claiming to the bill collector that they were looking for the wrong person based on last name spelling. So yeah, nobody know frugal like the Scottish. :-) |
