MG TD TF 1500 - Barn find TD on Youtube
My brother-in-law sent me a link to a youtube video of what looks like a TV program that I hadn't heard of. It shows a TD being extracted from a garage after 20 plus years. Featured also is George Medynski, long-time MG guru. For an enjoyable 20 minutes, go to Youtube and search for: Steel Earth 1953 mg td. Lou VanK. |

Thanks, Lou, Fun to watch. I pulled mine out of a barn where it had been hiding, owner said his father had parked it about 30 years before. We drove it onto my trailer. The youtube link mentioned above is: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PgeJ0UM3NlI Enjoy, Bob; |

YUP,,, pretty poor show,,,, definatly not the Medynski that I know of!!!!!!!!!!!!! Worried about pulling it out of the garage because it has a wooden floor "pan" and the car migh break in half?????? SPW |

Award winning??? What, king of the potty mouths? Cool MG find, but the same old formula of scripted reality TV. Over blown made up crap to get your attention. |

IMHO Only thing worth "hearing" : the XPAG running! |

I get "This video is unavailable"! PJ |

pj, you maybe the lucky one from reading the reviews here..if you cut and paste into your browser search ..at least that worked for me. regards, tp |

Maybe it's only available in the United States and parts of Mississippi Paul. :-) |

ok, the language did get pretty flowery after his wife's car got hit, but the comment about the wooden floor pans was preceded by talking about frame rot..since unibody cars consider the floor pan as structure..and our cars have wooden floor boards...i thought that was ok. mostly i thought it was ok. way better than any "american idol" show i've read about...better this than any "dancing with the stars". if the cars in the show room were done by george medynski he has MG experience. i thought it was ok. at least another TD is rescued. who knows, it might get some young kid interested in TD's. regards, tom |

Yeah... the wooden floor board thing was pretty funny. I suppose they had to generate a bit of drama where there wasn't much... it was sitting in a dry garage after all. I did enjoy seeing the car running at the end. Alex |

There are two Medynski's in my 90'ish NEMGTR directories, George and Robert. I seem to recall that the Medynski with the tech service business was Rob, not George. Bud |

Not award winning TV, but nice to see another TD rescued from oblivion. That engine did sound very nice! BobbyG |

Ok, Thanks to Tom I got it! I'll hold my comments on the video. Nice another one is saved though. As long as they restore it as original! PJ |

Too bad they didn't get to the "cat" sooner: http://youtu.be/DTVOK2yvbBM |

WOW, A cat-o-copter! Proves there are some strange people out there. Grin. PJ |

Rob was the tech guru. Retired to NH. His depth of knowledge compared to ANYone. Massaged my MKII-TD over the years, with secret touches. |

I surprised they didn't halt production after the discovery of the long lost catadeadapus. Surely a historical dig site. Missing link fer sure to the cat a pult , cat er myman , ...cross bred for cat man dingo and catching chicken cats a chorey. Wonder if that's where the previous owner got the cateyes for his license plates? |

He seemed so shocked that a car would have wooden floorboards but they aren't that uncommon. Both of my Fords (25 and 39) have wood floors. He's probably not an early car guy, more likely into muscle cars, etc. But overall he seemed respectful of the car and enthusiastic about learning its peculiarities. The show itself, well, I've shot reality shows in the past and I should probably refrain from commenting. Two pieces of advice would be to stop saying "like" so much, and don't turn the camera sideways just so you can reach the grill. Almost fell out of my chair from leaning. ;) Get a nice grill shot (very important shot when filming any car) and cut it in during editing. Oh, and stop with the f-bombs. But I'm admittedly a picky customer. Thanks for sharing the video, it was entertaining and I'm glad to see a TD get some air time in the US. |

...I was surprised (no I wasn't), that the colour wasn't mentioned... or the obivious round tailights or gauges.... and that the term vinyl was used....and that when they put the windshield down they didn't have to pull out the little brass 'stay/washer' ....Oh well....not as bad as McGuire's 'Car Crazy' anyway...... |

I'm happy to see guys trying to make a video. |
