MG TD TF 1500 - Bleeding TD Brakes

I will be installing a new master cylinder tomorrow. For bleeding the system, the WSM says to "Depress the pedal QUICKLY and allow it to return without assistance." I have read on the forum and elsewhere to pump SLOWLY and allow the pedal to return slowly. I would be happy to know what the forum consensus is, as I want to do this right.

TIA

When I do it myself (by myself)...I push with the tips of my fingers while looking under the car at whatever wheel i'm bleeding and watching for bubbles to stop coming up in the jar of fluid...don't think in that position you can do it quickly...you just push and let go, and push and let go....!!!
