MG TD TF 1500 - Celica 5 speed conversion MG parts neede
Hi all I am currently working on installing a Celica split allow case 2T five speed gearbox matched to a Stage 2 - XPAG motor in my TD. I have purchased (from Dellow Conversions in Sydney www.dellowconversions.com.au ) a bell-housing, clutch plate, speedo cable, yock etc to match the Celica gearbox and MG motor (cost of parts was $1250 AUS). Photo of parts attached. The bell-housing is the same width (115mm) as the MG bell-housing and uses the MG clutch, cross shaft and actuating fork etc. Clutch shaft is in same position as original. The Celica gearboxes come with gearshift either 15” (385mm) or 19” (485) from front of box whereas the mg td is 24” (600mm). I could probably bend / extend the gearshift lever to get near where the TD shift was located. I have to get a new tail-shaft made and remove the existing rear gearbox support and install a new one for the Celica gearbox (some 52mm to the rear ) to support the new gearbox. Currently designing the new support which will use and enable the existing support to be reinstated. As I would like to keep the XPAW motor and MG gearbox as a unit / spare , I am chasing up a clutch actuating fork to fit a 3/4” shaft (which I will get from Moss). I believe I can make the clutch lever using machinery at my car club. Therefore, does anyone have a spare actuating fork to suit a 3/4” shaft or know where I can purchase one. Stuart ![]() |

Stuart, I'm afraid I don't have the parts you need but I am very interested in what you are doing. Please post pictures as you progress. Paul. |
