MG TD TF 1500 - Engine Builders Magazine
The September edition of Engine Builders has a great cover article about British cars. Great to see that the shops we rely on for rebuilding our engines recognize us as a good source of business. |

Enjoyable article until toward the end where two items caught my attention (I could be wrong about both): (1) The author states "ABOVE: The mg td XPAG engine started as a Morris tractor motor. In some years a finned oil pan was fitted and in others this smooth oil pan was used." Could it be that the author is thinking of the Triumph engine from the Coventry works or, as I said, I could be wrong. (2) The last picture is of a TR-6 in a vintage race. Been a while since I owned one but that car surely looks like a TR-4/TR-4A or even perhaps a TR-5 (aka TR-250). Again, wouldn't be the first time I was wrong. Just wondering. Jud |
