MG TD TF 1500 - Fall Drives
A little off the T series talk, but it involves a TD. My son and his wife stopped by without kids today to go leaf peeping, and wanted to borrow one of my cars, my 58 Bugeye (as his is in my shop for restoration). A call 20 min. later, only started with a push down the road. 20 min. later, dead on the road. 1/2 hour away, stuffed a battery and tools in TD 1720 and hit the road. I failed to mention that I just had foot surgery and am not even supposed to drive a convensional automatic car. Arrived, switched batteries, fired right up, but ignition light was on. That can't be, I just rebuilt that generator! Pull up the bonnet, reached down and found main wire hanging in the air, far from its connector point. They waved goodbye to this old man and his tools, tucking them away in his trusty TD, to live another day with these loveable little cars that bring us out to live another day! They are off to enjoy a day that they will always remember, I, perhaps will to. Bob ![]() |

Gordon, Home again, son said he could just keep on driving it all day. Possibly will get him motivated to finishing his 61!
