Hard to believe there is a TD chassis lurking under there. I've never heard of this car. It isn't the John Edgar "88" that was destroyed in the filming of "On the Beach".

Does anyone know more about the car?

Features: Racing car with high performance and low weight, short and maneuverable, FIVA passport

The GMG was delivered to John Edgar, who insets the car with a 1.5 liter supercharged engine equipped with John McAfee on control in the SCCA championship. Sometime 1954-1956 bought Bill Leyden pretty car. By changing the rules of the small compressor motor had no chance and was replaced by a 2.5 liter six-cylinder engine Jaguar. Since the car was called GMG Jaguar.
Mid-80s came the car disassembled to England - 2008-2011 MG has been restored in Austria and used at various events.

I did read the ad, but doing an Internet search, including 50's racing results in CA, doesn't mention the car. I was looking for an independent source.

Without a TD engine it's not a MGTD IMHO.

....there are lots of similarities. However both stories deal with two completely different cars ???? Something fishy here ?
The GMG seems an interesting TD special though.

Mirbach is a classic car dealer with a solid reputation, so I it is most likely a real story.
However, I'm with Chris here - not much left from a TD...

Nick - I agree with you - that was my point by saying it is NOT Edgar's "88". I wonder what is the answer?
