MG TD TF 1500 - Hood Prop on e-bay

Saw this idea for a TD hood prop on e-bay. Looks interesting. Anyone have these and if they work well?

I made the same kind of hood prop some years ago. I used the same type "U" channel but didn't cut off the sides neearest the bolt. Painted black, you hardly notice them.
Fasten them on with the bolt/nut that holds the rod to the radiator. The rubber bumper on the hood fits nicely in the channel.
