MG TD TF 1500 - identify Car in a Movie

A question (possibly for Gordon Lawson). What is the identity of the roadster used in the film "Love Is A Many Splendored Thing" starring William Holden and Jennifer Jones? There is a six minute "trailer-type" clip on Google Videos that I found featuring the car in several scenes in that short time span. The question has bugged me for several years. Sunbeam-Talbot 10 DHC??

Matthew is right: Sunbeam Talbot 1946 - 8 tourer. A stop-gap continuation of a pre-war model to get the lines going after the war. Followed by the Sunbeam Talbot 80 and 90 in 1948.

My very first car, 10HP, side valve, aluminium head (the one post-war improvement). Cost £80 in 1961. It was the University Department work horse, and could carry a complete cricket team with the springs down on the chassis (just and far from safely). Regularly burned the exhaust valves.

Drove it everywhere through France, Italy and Germany, including the St Bernard Pass, and broke a half shaft in Germany (near Heidleburg), spare flown out by the AA. Everytime it went over a big bump the spare wheel cover fell off the back-end, so I hung it from lavatory chain and it swung along behind for many a mile.

Great car (for those times!)

Thank you both so much for responding and providing relief for my long-time curiosity. I rememember seeing this film in the mid-fifties, in my pre-teens, and hoping to have one or, something akin someday. I now have a beautiful '51 mg td and a mini-project '54 MG TF. Again, I am obliged for your taking time to identify my fifty-five year old dream of this awing roadster!

If you squint hard enough the car also happens to look a bit like an MG Y Tourer imho.
