MG TD TF 1500 - leaking dormant shock

My rear shock started to leak even though the vehicle has not been driven for almost a year. Is this expected and what do folks recommend for rebuilding and/or replacement on a 52TD? One was new, should they both be re-done together? Thanks

For better, safer handeling, they should always be done together.

Further, if they ever fail after he fixes them, a phone call or e-mail and he does them over again until they are right. It's money well spent. Cheers - Dave
