MG TD TF 1500 - LED Introduction to the T Series Group
We anticipate the mg td rectangle L.E.D. assemblies in hand soon. These are specifically manufactured to Negative OR Positive ground by request. Some detail: Just like all the other LEDs we have introduced to Classic British Cars, these will be approximately 4 times as bright and use 20% of the power your current standard bulb requires (and NO damaging heat buildup) leaving a bit less for your charging system to have to deal with and a little more reason not to change out that dynamo to that alternator. Next to good brakes, being seen is the second most important thing any of us can do. As our tail lamps stand at levels far below what the average driver will notice in time, this becomes a safety factor that is commonly overlooked. -BMC. |

I'm not sure about the wiring differences, if any, between the TC and TD rear lamps, but one issue with LED lamp inserts on TCs is the lack of a flasher circuit. This may be something to look into for your TD inserts. You may even want to consider an external, retrofittable circuit of some sort for people with existing LED tail lamps who have this problem. I know I'd buy a set for my TC since I currently have no flashers in the rear, and am unwilling to add additional separate lamps for the purpose. |

Brian, any idea as to the cost of the lights each or for the set? |

Tom, Shoot me an email and I'll contact you as soon as they are ready. or watch our site here: http://www.bmcautos.com/led Steve, Can you explain a bit more? You will se on our website that the LEDs do not fit in the socket but fill the entire lens and wires then protrude back to the harness where you plug them in. No base like an 1157, 1156 or other bulbs which eventually cause grounding issues on older vehicles. VERY specifically built towards each tail lamp assembly. -BMC. |

I see them on the web site as t o be comming but it is not clear if the price is each or the set. Thanks for doing this by the way. |

I would also be interested. My TD is pre turnsignal |

Steve, the LED D lamp inserts that I supply will work with electronic flasher units available at any auto supply....Terry |

Terry, I have the Skip Kelsey version. Have they changed at all, or do you have instructions on making the mod? To be clear, I have a turn signal circuit, and the front running lamps are converted to dual filament so they will flash, but the D-Lamp LED inserts for the rear are a single circuit with two brightnesses (running lamp and brake lamp). They cannot flash in addition unless there's something I'm missing. |

Steve, I have the same set up on my TC and my TC and my rear LEDs flash...these are same that Skip used sell....email me. Terry |
