MG TD TF 1500 - MG 2011, Breakfasts for BB regulars
Further to an earlier thread, It is my intention to host breakfasts on the mornings of Wednesday, June 15, and Thursday, June 16 in Reno. While it will be great to put faces to the many names that cross this great forum. I thought we might have a little fun at the same time. Here in Canada, northern winters are necessarily long and dark, but not necessarily cold. The Montreal MG Car Club continues to meet monthly, but since our cars are mothballed, we find different forms of amusement for our meetings, one of which is the “MG Quiz”, and the winner takes home a btl of wine. The farm beside me is a big producer of maple syrup and tins of fresh syrup will be our prizes. So, for those planning to come to MG2011, bone up on your MG lore, folks. These quizzes - one each morning, will be about 50% T-related, 25% other MG models-related, and 25% general MG lore. You can work in teams of 2; you and your squeeze, for example. But no two ‘heavyweight’ MG gurus. Its not the spirit of this event. In order to implement a little control, I am going to ask you to please register in advance. This will eliminate “walk-ons”, and fringe participants to the mg td/TF forum. Please e-mail me at the address on the left, so I can inscribe you. Please indicate if you’re a member of the NEMGTR and provide your number, I am writing the event up for the TSO, and this will help. Thanks. And you will see this thread again in a couple of weeks so as to pick up any stragglers. I’m still working on details, like where, times, etc, so please stand by ... Gord Clark Rockburn, Qué. ![]() |

Hello Gord, This sounds interesting. It looks like the thread about the breakfasts has dropped off the current list. Where and what times have been set up? Butch Taras VMG |

I'll try and be there Gord. Throw in an extra can if you have room...I'll pay for the pleasure. Just made reservations for the Rallye to Reno from the east coast. Now to set up some rooms heading east. I should have blisters on my ass by the time this is over lol. |

LaVerne, are you gonna trailer it back east then drive west? If so, you have b***s of steel! If the MG gods are willing I hope to pick up the group in Gunnison and maybe get to Grand Junction, but that's still conjecture at this point. Would love to go all the way and have breakfast and meet these guys in person, but I just don't think that's realistic in a TD even if I get it done by then. That said, not to hijack this thread, but if any of you guys are planning on joining LaVerne from the east, Gunnison CO is on Hwy. 50 and I live 30 miles uphill from there. At the very least I would love to have some sort of meeting at that point. Don't know what their schedule is, however but Gunny has to be a rest stop because it's the only civilization between the high peaks east and Montrose to the west. Ed |

No trailer Ed. Drive out and back. Will trailer from my place on to Reno. B***s no not really..just no common sense I suppose. I ain't getting any younger and I wanted to drive her across country... so what better chance then now? Right now I'm thinking I'll by pass the Canon City stop and come on home to rest and get the Green Hornet in the trailer and ready for the last two legs. |

It all starts in a month. So far, I've only received one confirming e-mail. I don't plan to go through the hoops unless I have at least 8 couples (ie 15 to 20 souls). Gord Clark Rockburn, Qué. |
