MG TD TF 1500 - New Stainless Moss Exhaust System
Picked up a stainless system from Moss last spring when they had their big sale... Finally had it installed this morning...took about an hour and the fit was pretty good...one rear engine bracket had to be 'stretched' a bit...(replaced actually), but the rest went together pretty darned good.... A bit more 'shine' then my TD has had for like...ever, but assume it will lose some of the 'bling'.... The sound is, well, there is no longer any sound...I can hear my tappets (and they sound pretty quiet as well) Do find i'm speeding a lot more....i most have leveled off when my ears started to hurt before.... Am quite happy...(although I do miss some of the noise) ![]() |

I have been using this system for several years and my experience and reaction to the new system has been the same as yours...very quiet. Back in the 1960's I owned a 1953 Austin Healey with overdrive in 2nd and 3rd gear. There was no sweeter sound than 2nd overdrive going through a tunnel...it wasn't quiet! Good luck, Sam Franklin TD 27438 |

I have installed the Moss system on "Rocky", but am still in paint, so I haven't really had a chance to try it out....I did run the engine for about 10 minutes, and love the sound and the look... I'm pretty sure the front pipe will turn blue, the way it does on motorcycles, but stainless steel should last as long as the car. Edward |

I have been running that exhaust for a year now. It has gotten a little louder since install, but sounds great. It has stayed "shiny" but have noticed that the tail pipe section has turned a slightly gold colour. I found the fit is very good. Gordon ... You will like it. |

Going to add one to my MGB this winter. Sounds like Moss has a decent system. |

I've installed that system on my TD. I only ran it for about 20 miles before my flywheel let go so I can't report much about the sound, but I thought it sounded pretty good. The fit & finish was excellent. The reports I've read of the B system is that it's a little loud but I've no personal experience with it. |

If that's the one made by Falcon, that's what I have on the 72 B and the TF. Perfect fit. I'm happy with the system. PJ |

The one I'm referring to is Moss's "Tourist Trophy" and isn't the same as Falcon (I have Falcon on my B). The B TT system is entirely different. I don't even know if there is a Falcon T-series exhaust. |

Yes there is Rob, I have a new one on the TF. It's extremely well made and it fit perfectly! Not highly polished like the Trophy, but the quality is there. The manifold flange and pipes are even thicker than the original. PJ ![]() |

Who currently sells the unpolished Falcon system - the shiney TT system will make the rest of my car look awful! |
