MG TD TF 1500 - Overnight Cover?
Does anyone know who sells overnight covers for our cars? These are the waterproof covers that go over the roof and front windshield... I bought mine about 10 years ago in Nova Scotia and I seem to remember hearing about the gentleman not making them anymore. If this is the case, my girlfriend is considering making them. She is in the high performance textiles business with access to the sealing equipment to make them truly waterproof. If someone is already in the business, we won't enter it, because it's a small market, but if they aren't, I see them as a true need in the community. Thanks, Blair ![]() |

...couple people in the Ontario Register had some made.... ripstop nylon.... but they were just for a quick cover with the top down.... smaller amount of material and went from the windshield back down to the gastank and down to the lower hinge.... quite neat ... little bungie loops that went around hinges and door handles i think.... There again...you have a tonneau...and a top..... |

Yup, you do have a tonneau and a top,,,, but when you get up early in the morning after a night rain storm, and you are in a hurry to get under way, it is sooo much better to fold away the DRY top and DRY tonneau,,, A few shakes, and the nylon cover can be put into it's small bag with no worrys,,,, Just a thought, SPW |

Blair, these covers are great, and there is a strong demand for such a product. I haven't seen them in a while. |

The fellow who makes them advertises them on ebay fairly often. I bought one and as Steve has said, keeps everything dry, easy to put on and take off and folds into a small "pillow" bag. I have used mine on a regular basis when on a run and it threatened rain overnight. Keeps everything dry and prying eyes out. Only comment I have is that he was making only one style which is really for a three bow top, takes a little extra care on a two bow top. Brian |

Maryellen Pelletier (mpellet923 at comcast dot net) makes and sells them too... for less than the guy in Ohio. I have one of her covers, see my website under the mg td15470 restoration / weather equipment. I use it on every trip. warmly, dave |

I got the hav-a-heart joke... I took a good look at it before parking there... didn't want to park near a known feeding spot. |

Here's a pic of Maryellen's cover,a bit frosty here. It also does a good job on the MGA. Marvin

Marvin, I like the MG emblem. Mine is embroidered in green thread, and when wet, disappears! But I love the cover. Here is a picture from the first time I used my Maryellen Peletier cover. warmly, dave ![]() |
