MG TD TF 1500 - Polybush

I'm trying to contact Polybush for a kit for my TF, but they've not returned a single email yet. When I try to order online they state that they don't have delivery service to the United States. I've knon others who've purchased a kit from them (online) and it worked just fine. Does anyone know if things changed?

Also, if there is another source for those bushings locally (in the US), I'd be open to chasing their product down.

Hi Alex,

I've looked at their website and they do quote delivery to USA on their terms and conditions page, however they also have an agent in New york according to their export page see link below. Hope that helps

Alex; All bushings are available from the usual sources in poly. Lower control arms inner bushes are the same as MGB; rear spring pads are same as midget; spring eye bushes are same as Midget. Moss and Victoria British both normally stock these as separately available components. Dan

Dan,

The reason I'm hot to trot on Polybush is that they have a "comfort" option. I've not seen this available from ANYONE else. I've contacted the NY agent who is a Range Rover specialist. They are going to look into it and get back to me.

I just skyped them... they were on Holiday and just got back yesterday. I appologized for my repeated emails and explained it away as being a "Yank" through and through (read... impatient).

Alex,
What is the "comfort option" that they offer ?????

Hi Steve, I fitted the comfort option on my TD and am extremely happy with the result.

They do 2 options comfort and performance.

The comfort option is the direct replacement for rubber bushes, so the ride remains the same but they last a lot longer than the rubber bushes.

The performance option give a much harder ride and stiffens up the suspension, better for the younger boy racer!!!

Steve,

Chris is correct. Though I MIGHT fall into the boy racer category, I didn't want anything stiffer in the suspension. I'm concerned about the shock of each and every bump being amplified through the whole coach built body tub.

Also, everything I'd heard from everyone else on here stated that the rubber ones don't last. Changing everything up is a bit of a challenge, so I didn't want to do it more than once if I could help it.

I have used their comfort option on my MK2 Jag - very happy. Found them nice people to deal with.

Well I am finally putting something back together instead of taking apart and already ran into a problem. I purchased the Polybush suspension kit and there are only 20 interleaf spring pads and I am pretty sure there should be 24. The package content states 20 pieces.
Has anyone else had this issue and was Polybush willing to send 4 more pads?

Regards,
Rich

Not sure I saved my spring bushes, but I ended up going with new springs and thus have my pads still. If you'd like them I could see if I still have them.
Alex Waugh

Alex,

That would be great if you still have them.

Thanks,
Rich

I found ploybush very easy to deal with I bet if you are short they will send you them...

I found them best by phone.

Cheers

I was looking at Polybush's site and they state 20 pads for the leaf springs so they may not be counting where the springs clips attach, but looks to me like they should go there too. I contacted them several days ago but haven't received any feedback.

Is there any sort of holiday going on in the UK that would be holding up email replies? I've run into that with AutoSparks. Bud

I don't think our cousins across the pond place the same sense of urgency regarding replies to e-mails as we do here, not always a bad thing. I have been in the same situation regarding other UK suppliers and have learned to wait it out. In a lot of these companies there is no "executive assistant" to take care of things like answering messages so the principal gets to it when he/she has time.

As we learned when we were much younger, patience is a virtue even if you have a garage-bound masterpiece.

I received an email from Polybush and they are sending 4 more spring pads so all is well.

Well after a months wait and no pads and a couple more emails to Polybush I received this reply.

Dear Richard,

"Apologies that you have not had a reply from us yet. We stock these in sets of 20 which should be enough for the vehicle. I will arrange for the other 4 to be sent out to you."

I have 7 springs per side, 6 of, at least I think, should have a pad which makes 12 per side. There are actually 24 holes in the springs but 4 of these have the spring leaf bracket braded through them but it still seems like a pad should be used at this point and there is an indention that will accept the pad with a little trimming. Moss and Abingdon Spares lists 24. Am I missing something here?
