MG TD TF 1500 - Reverse polarity on my old Facet pump?

As posted previously, I recently installed a new Facet pump near the back of the frame when I changed from positive to negative ground to accommodate an alternator. Either the filter that the new pump pulls through or the pump itself caused some fuel starvation recently and nearly kept me from making it home. My old Facet pump (as identified by David DuBois) apparently worked well as a positive ground system for over thirty years, so I am considering reinstalling it. I made a test stand for the old pump today and learned that it pumps equally well as positive or negative ground. It is a single wire hook-up with ground through the case. My question is, is there any danger in running it as negative ground? I likely would remove the filter that the new Facet pump pulls through and use a power switch that would run either the old or the new pump, but not both at the same time. Since I haven't done such a hook-up yet, my assumption is that either pump would permit fuel pass-through when it is not pumping. The old pump has a filtering system in the base of the pump. Ultimately, I need to remove the fuel tank and give it the POR 15 treatment as described by Larry Shoer (archives several years ago) but right now I just need to keep fuel pumping from what is likely a pretty rusty tank.

No danger in running it negative ground.
Either pump should permit pass through.
