MG TD TF 1500 - Sparkplug gap
I just installed a pertronix ignitor and a sport coil. I am using NGK-BP6ES sparkplugs. What should the plug gap be? I would guess around .030" Many thanks, Ben

Ben - 0.035" is what I use, works fine. Cheers - Dave

I have mine at 0.030 at the moment running fine but will work up to 0.035 next time I set the plugs. I found before with my Jag MK2 that though in theory you can set the gaps to 0.045 it puts extra strain on the rest of the system and I burned tracking on my disti cap... Dave MG TF 1500

David, Is that gap just for the Pertronix setup or for a regular distributor also. I thought .025 was the book value. Cheers, Jim

Jim, it's the sport coil that allows the larger gap. I'm using .035" with BP6ES plugs and Pertronix with a sport coil. Bud
