MG TD TF 1500 - Steel Wheels for TD's

Does anyone know of a source for TD Steel wheels or anyone that repairs them?

There were 20,000 more TD's produced than any other T series and yet no reproduction wheels.

Food for thought.

your best bet is to look on ebay as a number of people change to wire wheels and then sell on their steel wheels. Or perhaps your question on this forum may well result in an offer from someone.

Ed,
For what it's worth, the Morris Oxford of similiar vintage, had the same wheels as the TD without the holes. I picked up some a while back, put the holes in them and you have to look close to see the difference in the shape of the holes. These will probably be as difficult as the TD wheels to locate but it is another source for you. Good luck.

If you buy wheels from new England Classics be sure they are straight, and count your fingers after you say good-bye...

Good day Mr. Stanfield, etal:

I have had TC and TD steering wheels repaired and refurbished by Ben Cordsen, Fort Collins, Colorado, e-mail address: sculptart@aol.com, who is excellent in his craftmanship and is a very easy going chap to deal with.

Respectfully submitted:

Unrelated to the wheels, but as a follow-up to Tom's comment, I was unimpressed with NE Classics when I sent an e-mail inquiring about a TD they have listed for $ 25,000. Never heard back from them. If they don't respond on a major item it makes one wonder how they handle smaller ones.

Right then: Mr. Stanfield, etal:

Some day I will learn to read. Steel road wheels, ah yes !! Sorry about that--other than locally I draw a blank on the subject.

I apologise for mye cock up--but, on the upside, if you do need steering wheel help, at anytime, do keep Mr. Corsen in mind.

Feeling ever so silly about this, I remain:

Jack,
We all have those senior moments...more every year! Have had some dealings with Mr. Cordson and have also always found him easy to deal with

Ed, please send me an email if you are still looking for some TD steel wheels. I have a stack of these including a set of chromed ones if that is your fancy.
