MG TD TF 1500 - Steering wheel
| I removed the steering wheel today and it's cleaning up pretty well. The wheel had an old very dirty leather cover (which didn't clean off) so I removed it and underneath I found evidence of repair work. Someone had taken fine wire and made a dozen wraps around where the wood was cracking, and then covered it in leather. I think, but am not sure, that by using many coats of very thinned varnish I can essentially reglue the wheel so that it will work. But if I can't, does anyone have any advice? |

| Geoff, the steering wheel may be repairable using a two part clear epoxy to put it back together, that given, the wood wheel is of course not stock on the TD. Clear epoxy can be varnished/painted over with nary a trace. I have done it on walnut tables and bowls many times. |
