MG TD TF 1500 - Steering wheel adapter kit

I have found several steering wheels I like that will good on my TD. I want more lap room. The wheels I am looking at need a conversion kit. I have searched but not found an acceptable kit. Any help here will be appreciated.

Off the shelf you are pretty limited to the hub made for the Moto Lita/Tourist Trophy wheels and the steering wheels made to fit them. They come up ocassionally on line for a bit less money but not much.

A 15" wheel is just nice. I wouldn't go any smaller.
I would also recommend you fit the new boss from Brown & Gammons. It has 108 fifferent mounting positions and saves mucking about with the track rod ends to get the wheel straight. I have it on mine and am very pleased with it.

The Moto Lita plastic caps do not fit very well.

Search the archives under my name for 2018 for "another whats wrong". You will see my original wheel that I reduced in diameter by 2". It was a messy job but I think some steering wheel reconditioners can do the job for you.
