MG TD TF 1500 - SU fuel pump diodes

Thanks to the late David Dubois:
If you have a car with an SU fuel pump that is still has points, I have in stock TVS diodes that prevents
the points from burning and or needing cleaning. They fit under the "Flat" cover of MG T type
pump and have ESD protection, are Bidirectional & rated for automotive use. They also
replace the junk condensers on the later MGB pumps. Simple to install.
Only a few "Bucks" for US PS first class mail, .
(Moss Motors sells fuel pump doides of questionable reliability for $ 22.95 + shipping !)

A while back when replacing the SU fuel pump points in both of my Jaguar 3.8S pumps which had the silver cylindrical device fitted from new, I replaced them with the diode shown supplied from Moss. I hope these are beneficial.

Thank you - I will order 2 today - one for a friend.

On another question

I have replaced my back up fuel pump with a new one from Moss Facet FEP42SV which is specified relatively high pressure 1.5-4psi and flow rate of 28gph. My understanding of typical fuel flow rate requirements for a stock engine is in the 7-9 gph.

My question is this the best fuel pump for our TD's or is it overkill stressing all components with potential for future fuel leaks?
