MG TD TF 1500 - Tadeus almost ready to roll

Hi Guys:

Enclosed is a picture of Tadeus, our 1953 TD, almost ready to roll. It has been completely restored, restoring took five years. Only missing are the doors, next week the local T-series door installation guru will come over to help us with this job, and the rear bumper that is being rechromed.

This is my first retoration and I believe it has been successful thanks to the excellent advice of all you in the forum. Thanks a lot!

Well Done Stuart!!

You are about to enjoy the fruits of your labor, and where you are there will be a lot more beautiful driving days than in here the northern climates... We get 9 months of winter and 3 months of tough sledding... LOL...

Congratulations on the beautiful results of your work and dedication... Remember, we are never realy "owners" of these wee cars - just loving caretakers of a little bit of automotive history...They don't pass through our lives - we pass through theirs as they age with dignity...

Cheers,

Stuart, it sure looks good. Love the headlights. Nice color combination- don't see that very often at all. Same combo as the TC upholstery pictures that were used for years in the Moss Catalog. That TC was owned by Mike Love of the Beach Boys at the time the original pictures were taken (today's useless trivia!). George

Stuart,

You have done a great job. The car looks unbelievable!

Does your color match the original cream color for the TD model? It seems to be very similar to the color of my 52TD, which I think the PO had applied. I have always assumed that my TD paint color was not original, since it seemed more yellow than cream (white).

Here is a picture of my car.

Stuart -- I am proud to have been able to contribute a little to that beautiful car. May you have great enjoyment taking care of it while it is in your care.

Sincerely,

Stuart,

Congrats, looks great. Lots of fun roads there in PR to test it on...but be careful!

Thank you guys for your kind comments. Mike when we removed the tank the color on the part toward the tub was cream and we did not find any other color beneath it. Someplace I found the formula number of the cream color and took it to the paint shop where, after some research, they found formula and mixed it. I believe the color is as near the original as they could make it.

Best wishes,

Stuart

Looks very, very good. You should be quite proud of your efforts and results! That color combination has actually gotten quite popular again. I think so much of it that my car is going to almost be your car's twin!
